Ruth C. Carlos, MD, MS, FACR, Professor of Radiology, serves as Assistant Chair for Research Faculty Development and Director of Research in Outcomes and Care Delivery at Columbia University. Her work centers on socioradiogenomics and the biological effects of adverse SDOH on cancer. She is Professor Emerita of the University of Michigan and the first woman editor-in-chief of a major radiology journal, the Journal of the American College of Radiology, informing management and practice of radiology. She received the Gold Medal from the Association of University Radiologists (AUR), Distinguished Educator Award from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the Radiology Alliance for Health Services Research Achievement Award and the Stanford Medicine X Research Challenge Grand Prize. A funded investigator of the National Institutes of Health, she has been recognized for her research by induction into the Academy of Radiology Research Council of Distinguished Investigators.

Marie-Pierre Revel is currently a full professor of radiology at Université de Paris Cité and Head of the Radiology department at Cochin Hospital, University of Paris, Paris, France. Her area of expertise concerns thoracic imaging in particular in the field of thoracic oncology and thromboembolic diseases. A former president and now honorary member of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) she also chairs the European Society of Radiology's Interdisciplinary Communication and Affairs Committee. With over 170 peer-reviewed article and an impressive H-index of 40, she has pioneered a novel approach to lung nodule assessment, employing volumetry to estimate volume doubling time, a method now integral to European lung cancer screening studies.

Prof. Revel's influence extends to projects like SOLACE (Strengthening the Screening of Lung Cancer in Europe), focused on advancing lung cancer screening in Europe, particularly in her leadership role in screening for the female population. In France, she advises the Institut du Cancer and contributes to the implementation of lung cancer screening and she is the principal investigator of the CASCADE (Lung CAncer SCreening in French women using low-dose CT and Artificial intelligence for DEtection).

Dr. Kyle Chapman is an associate professor at West Virginia University and is a practicing pulmonologist and intensivist. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of WVU Cancer Institute’s Mobile Cancer Screening Program and serves as the Medical Director for the Program. He also serves as the lead pulmonologist for the WVU Lung Cancer Screening Program. In addition to his interest in thoracic oncology, he helps to train the next generation of pulmonary fellows at the hospital and clinics, works regularly in the medical ICU, and runs the adult cystic fibrosis clinic. His clinical and research interests include lung cancer screening, management of pulmonary nodules, and medical education.
Outside of work, Dr. Chapman enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Professor Ricardo Sales dos Santos, MD, PhD is a distinguished thoracic surgeon with an extensive educational and professional background. He graduated from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in 1995 and completed his residency in general and thoracic surgery at UNICAMP from 1996 to 1999.
Following his residency, he pursued several fellowships in specialized areas such as minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, and robotics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and Boston University (BU) from 2002 to 2009. He furthered his academic credentials by earning a PhD in surgical research from the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP) in 2016.

Professor Sales dos Santos is an active member of the Brazilian Society of Thoracic Surgery (SBCT) and serves on the Screening and Early Detection Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
Currently, he practices as a thoracic surgeon at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo, as well as at MaterDei, Oncoclínicas, and the HAPNDI Healthcare Networks in Salvador, Bahia, and Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. He is also a founding partner of ProPulmão, a mobile unit dedicated to low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screening, aimed at providing vital screening services to high-risk populations across Brazil.
